HW BUSINESS BOOK CLUB

The Houston Woman Business Book Club was formed in January 2009 by Houston Woman Magazine to further its mission of informing, inspiring and connecting successful women.

The Houston Woman Business Book Club meets 10 times per year, at the H.E.S.S. Club, 5430 Westheimer Road, from 7 to 8:30 a.m. The meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month - January thru May, July and September thru December.

All of the books read by this group are national bestsellers, readily available for purchase online or at local bookstores. The selections focus on some aspect of business and provide insights into such topics as branding, business development, leadership, sales and marketing, management, motivation, social networking, new trends, etc.

Meetings feature a hearty buffet breakfast, one-on-one networking and discussion of the book selection of the month. Cost of the breakfast is $20 per person (with an advanced reservation) and $28 if paid at the door.

There are no membership fees or attendance requirements, and guests are welcome to come and enjoy. Having read the selected book before the meeting is encouraged but not required.

If you’d like to be placed on the e-mailing list for the Houston Woman Business Book Club, please call 713-780-2098.

I'd like to recommend: Igniting Inspiration – A persuasion manual for visionaries by John Marshall Roberts. It was incredibly inspiring but it also gives very practical marketing strategies.

I believe your group would enjoy the Barbara Bush Foundation's annual Celebration of Reading event. The event features readings by bestselling authors. One author in particular is Blake Mycoskie the founder of TOMS shoes.
