NEWS: Snare appointed president of American Leadership Forum

The Board of Trustees of the American Leadership Forum Houston/Gulf Coast Chapter (ALF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel W. Snare as its new president.

"Dan is uniquely qualified for the position. He has decades of experience growing non-profit organizations, helping them with outstanding programming, and an impressive track record in fundraising," said Paula Arnold, ALF board xhair and chair of the search committee.

Snare comes to the American Leadership Forum Houston/Gulf Coast Chapter from Bering Omega Community Services, one of Houston’s premiere charitable organizations providing a continuum of care for low-income individuals affected by HIV/AIDS, where he served as its top executive. Prior to Bering Omega Community Services, he served as the CEO of Community Health Charities, a national workplace involvement organization that raised more than $64 million annually for many of the country’s leading health charities.

Snare has more than 30 years of experience in non-profit management and community development, including 14 years spent with the American Diabetes Association in Texas, California and Pennsylvania.  Snare received his bachelor of science degree in advertising from The University of Texas at Austin.  He is a Senior Fellow of ALF’s Medical Community Class 5.

Snare has assumed responsibilities held by Harriet Wasserstrum, who retired recently after 11 years leading ALF.

Snare said he is honored to have the opportunity to lead the organization.

"We have the ability to enhance and continue to build this vital organization where leaders convene and collectively make meaningful differences in the wellbeing of our community," he said.
