EVENT Dimen Dong Folk Chorus to perform at Asia Society Texas Center

A concert by the Dimen Dong Folk Chorus will be held at the Asia Society Texas Center on Thursday and Friday, June 27-28, beginning 7:30 p.m. A pre-performance discussion will be held at 6:30 p.m.

The Dimen Dong Folk Chorus is composed of 14 young people dedicated to the revival and promotion of their culture through song. Their music is characterized by polyphonic singing, or kgal laox, and speaks of diverse beauty of rural life. The Dimen Dong Folk Chorus has recently performed the 2013 Smithsonian Folklife Festival and at the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts.
