Hermann's 168th birthday party

Hermann Park Conservancy will be celebrating George Hermann's 168th birthday today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kinder Station in Lake Plaza.

Hermann Park is named for George Hermann, who donated the land for the Park to the City of Houston in 1914. To honor his birthday, children ages one to 12 can ride the Hermann Park Railroad for only $1.68. Adult tickets are $3, and children under one, as always, will ride free!

A coloring contest will be held for ages one to five, and 6 and older. The prize for each age group will include an engineer cap, train whistle, bandana and four complimentary train tickets!

Cupcake will have its delicious, homemade cupcakes available for only $1.68, while supplies last.
