Best of Houston architecture

A panel of three nationally recognized architects met at Architecture Center Houston on Friday, Feb. 25 to select the best of new Houston architecture from among 126 entries. Eligibility was limited to projects completed within the last five years and located within the Houston metropolitan area or designed by an architect working in the Houston metropolitan area.

The jury selected 17 projects in eight categories to receive awards. The jurors were Susan Piedmont-Palladino, curator of the National Building Museum, Washington, DC; Steve Raike, Lake Flato Architects, San Antonio; and Jay Siebenmorgen, NBBJ, New York City.

The awards will be presented at a special dinner at Brennan’s on March 23.
