Winkler to speak here Feb. 3

The Center for Success and Independence will hold it’s first “Celebrating Triumph” Luncheon at the Houston Country Club on Thursday, Feb. 3. Actor Henry Winkler will be the special guest speaker.

Best known for his portrayal as “The Fonz” on Happy Days, Winkler is also the celebrated co-author of a series of 17 children’s books whose hero, Hank Zipzer, is closely modeled on his own childhood, made miserable by failing at school due to undiagnosed dyslexia.

Using his position as a celebrity to help countless others, Winkler has taken leadership roles with a long list of national and international organizations and has been recognized for his efforts by such prestigious groups as B’nai B’rith, the United Nations and the French government.

Winkler will share with his unique brand of humor and uplifting message of living one’s dreams.

The event will honor Meredith and Raffi Tcholakian for their years of continuous charitable efforts. Funds raised through the luncheon will further the mission of The Center for Success and Independence of providing comprehensive, compassionate and quality treatment to youth with various disorders.

Event chairs are Sherri and Charles Gordon, Karen and Kevin Henry, and Paige and Morris Windham. Honorary chairs are Elaine and Jim Turner.

To order luncheon tickets, call 713-599-1271.
