Salvation Army to serve 10,000

Salvation_Army_logoThe Salvation Army Greater Houston Area Command will open its doors today at three locations to provide homemade Thanksgiving Day meals to some 10,000 residents of Houston, Pasadena and Conroe.  Turkey, dressing and all the trimmings, as well as several tasty desserts, will be served to Houston’s homeless, elderly, shelter residents, families and those affected by the economy.

The meals are being served at Family Residence, 1603 McGowen, from 12 noon to 3 p.m.; Harbor Light Center, 2407 North Main, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and the Conroe Cops Community Center, 304 Avenue E in Conroe, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Volunteers to help serve are welcome.
