UH Exploring Her Story

The University of Houston Friends of Women's Studies will be presenting "The Living Archives: Exploring Her Story" on Monday, Nov. 29 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Elizabeth Rockwell Pavilion of the MD Anderson Library on the UH Main Campus.

The day's program, "Stirring the Pot: Houston Cooks and Food Activists," features a panel discussion with Janice Schindeler, food journalist and cookbook author; Pam Walker, author, organic farmer and farmer's market organizer; Irma Galvan, owner/chef of Irma's Restaurant; and Anita Jaisinghani, owner/chef of Indika. Dr. Monica Perales of the history department of the University of Houston, will serve as moderator.

This program is made possible in part with a grant from Humanities Texas, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. The Living Archives series explores the history and experience of Houston women. In video form, the programs become part of the Women's Archive and Research Center at the University of Houston.

The programs are free to the public, but space is limited. To save your spot, please call 713-743-3214.
