Excellence in Nursing Awards

The Sixth Annual Excellence in Nursing Awards Luncheon, hosted by The Good Samaritan Foundation, will take place on Thursday, Sept. 16 at the Hilton Americas - Houston. Registration and check-in will begin at 11: 30 a.m.

The foundation will be presenting its 2010 Excellence in Nursing Awards.

The 2010 Gold Award Winners include Stephanie Garee, MSN, RN, CEN,The Methodist Hospital, Clinical Practice in a Large Hospital Award; Veronica Jenkins, RN, Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital, Clinical Practice in a Small Hospital Award; Wyona M. Freysteinson, MN, Memorial Hermann - Hospice and Home Health, Clinical Practice in a Hospice/Home Healthcare/Clinic/Other Setting Award; Margaret "Maggi" Rachal Dodds, RN, MS, CPNP, Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital, Nursing Education: Clinician Award; Nancy Bergstrom, Ph.D, RN, FAAN, The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston School of Nursing, Nursing Education: Faculty Award; and Jean Dols, Ph.D, FACHE, RN, NEA-BC, CHRISTUS Health System, Nursing Administration and Leadership Award.

The 2010 Silver Medalists include Nellie Loewen, RN, CA-CP, SANE, CFN, The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Clinical Practice in a Large Hospital Award; Shawna Pippin, RN, BSN, CHPN, CHRISTUS St. Catherine Hospital, Clinical Practice in a Small Hospital Award; Marylyn Harris, RN, MSN, MBA, Harrland Healthcare Consulting, LLC, Clinical Practice in a Hospice/ Home Healthcare/ Clinic/ Other Setting Award; JoAnn Mick, Ph.D, MBA, RN, AOCN, NEA-BC, Harris County Hospital District, Nursing Education: Clinician Award; Sandra K. Cesario, Ph.D, RNC, FAAN, Texas Woman's University Nelda C. Stark College of Nursing - Houston, Nursing Education: Faculty Award; and Pamela E. Windle, MS, RN, NE-BC, CPAN, CAPA, FAAN, St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital, Nursing Administration and Leadership Award.
