The Women's Fund and The Health Museum are hosting "Girl + 1 Get Healthy" on Wednesday, Aug. 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Health Museum, 1515 Hermann Dr.

The event focuses on fighting the growing obesity problem through interactive education for young women and their adult female guardians. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about basic nutrition, physical activity and healthy eating habits, as well as have the chance to win several door prizes. Tickets are $10 per person. Girls 10 to 14 years of age and all female mentors are welcome.
