The Houston Marathon Committee has announced its new lineup for the Run for a Reason program.

The program links over 30,000 runners with 51 non-profit organizations, where participants are able to collect donations on behalf of the charity of their choice.

Last year, the program collected $1.8 billion for 46 organizations.

Outside the lottery registration system, the Run for a Reason program offers several new ways for those interested to participate, including fundraising or providing a tax-deductible donation.
