The Houston Rotary District 5890, partnered with AT&T, has proclaimed June as "Rotary District 5890 No Texting While Driving Month," asking Rotary members, families and friends in the greater Houston area to refrain from texting while driving.

The campaign is designed to raise awareness about the risks of texting while driving and inform drivers, especially teens, about the deadly consequences associated with this simple distraction.

AT&T's national campaign features real-life examples of text messages that have altered or ended someone's life, demonstrating the insignificance of a text message when it is compared to the effect it can have on a life.
