Salvation Army Week

Mayor Annise Parker will kick-off National Salvation Army Week today by presenting The Salvation Army Greater Houston Area Command with a proclamation in honor of its 121 years of service in the Greater Houston region.

The proclamation will be presented at 2 p.m. at the Houston City Hall Rotunda, 901 Bagby, on behalf of the City of Houston and will be accepted by Houston’s Area Commander for The Salvation Army, Major Chris Flanagan.

National Salvation Army Week begins today and runs through May 15 and is celebrated across the United States in hundreds of cities and towns. The week-long observance is time to honor the faithful ministry of The Salvation Army in Houston and across the world.
