Minute Mentoring

Houston’s most powerful political and professional women, national women leaders and the next generation of young female professional leaders will gather Friday afternoon, February 5 at the law offices of Bracewell & Giuliani, LLP for Minute Mentoring, a fun and fast-paced mentoring event.

Minute Mentoring is an idea born out of necessity — young women are hungry for advice from professional women, and professional women want to share their experiences. Former White House Press Secretary Dana Perino teamed up with Former Member of Congress Susan Molinari of Bracewell & Giuliani LLP to create a unique, round robin-style forum in which accomplished women share their experiences with young professionals in a rapid-fire series of brief meetings. The upcoming Houston event builds on the success of the inaugural Minute Mentoring event held three months ago in Washington, D.C.

Former First Lady Barbara Bush will “blow the whistle” to kick off the forum. Twenty mentors — including Houston Mayor Annise Parker, Perino and Molinari, Chevron Energy Technology Co. President Melody Meyer, CBS News Chief Legal Correspondent Jan Crawford, Continental Airlines General Counsel Jennifer Vogel — will meet 60 Houston-area mentees to share their own experiences and best practices regarding career and leadership goals. Mentees rotate to new mentors every 10 minutes. The event concludes with an opportunity for everyone to network over light refreshments.
