In partnership with Goodwill Industries of Houston, Soles4Souls®, the shoe charity, will distribute more than 1,000 pairs of new shoes to underprivileged veterans in the Houston area on Tuesday, Jan. 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 12 noon.

The event will be held at the Mid-Town Terrance Hotel, 4640 Main. Currently, the hotel serves as a shelter for the veteran residents.

Houston is a part of a 20-city distribution tour to commemorate Soles4Souls' five-year anniversary. The tour launches in New Orleans today and will continue to Dallas on January 15. Kim Kardashian is helping raise funds for the shoes distributed on the tour through the site

Soles4Souls staff and RV, along with Goodwill employees, will be on site to help fit and distribute the shoes to the underprivileged clients.

Nashville-based Soles4Souls® facilitates the donations of both new and used shoes, which are used to aid the hurting worldwide. Soles4Souls has distributed more than five million pairs (currently donating one pair every nine seconds) to people in over 125 countries, including Honduras, Uganda, Romania and the United States. The charity has been featured recently in Runner's World and the Green Guide by National Geographic. It has also appeared on CNN, NBC, ABC, FOX, CBS, and hundreds of regional outlets around North America.
