Houston Woman Magazine is a monthly publication that targets
professional women living and working in the greater Houston metropolitan
area. Our mission is to inform, inspire, celebrate and connect women!
Houston Woman Magazine spotlights women who are making
a positive difference in our community and focuses on issues of concern.
Contributors - writers and artists - are all award-winning professionals
and local residents. The same is true of the experts who provide information
in the fields of business, education, finance, health and fitness, law,
medicine, psychology, the arts and entertainment, leisure and recreation.
Houston Woman Magazine seeks to provide a vehicle for the
exchange of ideas and encourages readers to submit comments, letters to
the editor and guest commentaries, as well as original non-published poems
and essays for consideration.
Beverly
Denver is a well-trained and seasoned professional journalist with more
than 30 years of experience in the print media. Her experience is unique,
having worked in all facets of the newspaper industry. She has spent much
time in the newsroom - as a reporter and editor - and also in the boardroom,
having held positions as a marketing director, an advertising sales manager
and publisher. Her experience includes positions with both small local papers
and several big city dailies. In the mid 1980s, the entrepreneurial bug bit, and Denver launched her own community newspaper in the North Harris and South Montgomery County area. Several years later, she started a similar publication in an affluent area of the inner city.
Throughout her career, Denver has also served as a print media consultant, working with individuals, small businesses and other newspapers, specializing in marketing and business development.
Denver is the recipient of numerous professional and community-service awards. Most recently, she was named the Print Journalist of the Year 2000 by the Press Club of Houston.
